What is SLKscreens all about???

SLKscreens is about my creations, my ideas, my art being transfered from my imagination to fabric. If you're already familiar with silkscreening then you know what I'm talking about. If you're not well hopefully here you can learn about it and if you have the time, the want, the imagination then you also can start your own projects. Most of the work you will see here will be created by me. Of course I will also add additional works of art created by artists I personally know and some by others. I am a real big fan of art. Being paintings, designing, photography, sculptures, stenciling, doodle-ling, computer graphics, drawings, crafts and many more mediums. The one thing that have always admired though out my life if "Graffity Art" "Street Art" however you want to call it. To me its all art. That is why I pay great respect to everyones work. No matter what or who's work it is. So I hope you will all enjoy some of my "Best Artistic Creations.

Teck Bank logo on artbook

This is a logo i designed for one of my friends.  Will try to silkscreen this one on T-shirts.  Hopefully this one will end up looking better then the last.  Still, I thought it was pretty good for first time.....

The "S" on my chest represents who I am...

This is my version of the famous "S".  You all know what im talking about...

Teck Bank logo

All of the work you see here is all handmade no machines used.  I simply sketched out the "Teck Bank" logo on some adhesive clear paper I purchased from "Amazon". Then I created the stencil with my X-acto knife. The screen I used to create this project I purchased a while back in Downtown L.A.  You can find all the tools you need for this kind of project in DTLA.  Of course the internet is another great place where you can purchase all these tools.  After stencil was done I placed it on the screen, seal the uncovered sides of the mesh with tape, grabbed the paint and squeegee and got to work. Top pic is where the logo is being transfered to the t shirt and bottom pic is the final product.  If you noticed the extra lines and how the "B" doesn't seem to align at the bottom that is because my stencil tore.  Yup, trying to work with your own paper to make the stencils sometimes turns out to be more work.  It actually tore in 8 different places so I just simply put it together like a puzzle.  Sometimes it takes a lot of patience to get certain things the way you want them to but if you enjoy doing crafts like I do you wont mind.  I will try to make the steps more simple and use pics from beginning to end next time so you can see the whole process.  I am new to this "blog" stuff so pls be patient.....
